Sustainable Floristry Demonstrations

Renewed confidence for church flower arrangers, floristry groups and organisations

The floral Industry is going through a seismic shift. The move from rigid rules and structures, to a more fluid, intuitive, creative and natural approach to design is going hand-in-hand with the move away from traditional floral foam.

The Church of England Synod decision to encourage foam-free design and locally sourced materials has been welcomed by many, but throws up some challenges for church groups, volunteers and flower arrangers who may have been using the same methods for several years. We all feel quite vulnerable and open to criticism when facing a new challenge, updating skills, or learning a new process. I feel very strongly that the best way to learn is in a non-judgmental, friendly, non-critical but open and honest environment.

My foam-free demonstrations are exactly that. Open, honest and friendly discussion - chatting through some of the challenges I have faced in my own business, and showing you how I create informal, natural floristry designs with a number of different floristry mechanics. I’ll share all of my best tips, tricks and advice for success - and we will have fun along the way!
